She's Not There

"She's Not There" 17"x23" Acrylic on wood. Sold.
A painting inspired by the Ivory-billed woodpecker.

The Ivory-billed woodpecker is thought to pair for life. The pairs were also known to travel together. They were native to the virgin forests of the southeastern United States. Due to habitat destruction and hunting, its numbers have dwindled to the point where it is uncertain whether any remain.

  1. Yes, so sad the Ivory-Bill is gone. I have many Pileated Woodpecker around the studio. There have been cases of misidentification between the two types of woodpeckers. I keep my eye out for Ivory-Bills in hope they are truly not gone.

Another great painting from you! Emotive on multiple levels.
